About us
EUROCONTROL, the European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation, is an intergovernmental Organisation with 41 Member States, committed to building, together with its partners, a Single European Sky that will deliver the ATM performance required for the 21st century. EUROCONTROL employs more than 1,900 highly qualified professionals spread over four European countries.
EUROCONTROL has more than 50 years of experience in ATM concept development and validation, on its own and at the core of a pan European network of collaborators. Over the years, EUROCONTROL has led and participated in many research projects exploring innovative ATM concepts (free route, free flight, autonomous separation procedures). EUROCONTROL employs skilled researchers, ATM concept experts, cognitive psychologists and engineers. As an intergovernmental agency, EUROCONTROL maintains an objective viewpoint, unswayed by commercial interest.
Key assets for the project
EUROCONTROL operates several simulators of different kinds to support ATM research and over the years has funded and steered the development of several of these, e.g. SAAM, NEST, RAAMS, ESCAPE and so on.
EUROCONTROL represents the experience and interest of an international organisation working for the innovation in ATM. EUROCONTROL will contribute with: i) a really extensive knowledge of all the SESAR projects in particular related to IFR RPAS Integration; ii) the availability of its simulation platform covering the ATC side.
EUROCONTROL will lead WP2 “Set up of the Evaluation” and will mainly support activities contributing to the following tasks:
• Activity Modeling,
• Concept Definition/Refinement,
• Simulation/Evaluation,
• Communication and Dissemination Activities.
